Magic, the Gathering  -  FORMATY TURNIEJÓW => General Info

Turnieje przeprowadzane są w wielu różnych formatach gry, które zabraniają używania niektórych kart lub ich określonych edycji.

Najpopularniejszymi w Polsce formatami "constructed" (gra własną talią) są "Extended" ("Type 1.X"), oraz "Standard" ("T2", "Type 2") i "Modern".

Istnieje jeszcze format zwany  "Vintage" ("T1", "Classic"), w którym dozwolone są wszystkie karty, a te najsilniejsze są restrykcjonowane (można mieć tylko jedną w decku).

Oprócz tego istnieje także format "Legacy" (dawniej nazywany "Type 1,5"), który różni się od "T1" tym, że najpotężniejsze karty są w Legacy zbanowane (zabronione - nie można nimi grać). Obniża to tzw. power level (czyli "moc") talii istniejących w tym formacie, przez co ma on wielu zwolenników.

Oprócz turniejów "constructed" odbywają się także atrakcyjne, ale i bardziej skomplikowane i trudniejsze turnieje "limited", polegające na graniu talią skonstruowaną na samym turnieju.

Najpopularniejsze formaty "limited" to "Booster Draft" (najtrudniejszy, jest również częścią Mistrzostw Polski) oraz "Sealed Deck", najczęściej grany z okazji ukazywania się nowych edycji lub turniejów kwalifikujących na profesjonalny cykl Pro Tour.

"Two Headed Giant" jest specjalnym formatem do gry drużynowej w parach, zarówno w wersji "constructed" jak i "limited".

Booster draft

Booster draft is a format of play where you pick one card from a booster pack and then pass it to your neighbor. The natural process of design tends to create cards that work well for drafts without us having to actually spend a great deal of time focusing on it.

Process

In order to have a Booster Draft, you need three things:

• 3 Booster packs per player from the current draft format
• 8 total players (It’s possible to draft with fewer than 8, but 8 is the number needed for sanctioned Magic drafts)
• A healthy supply of basic lands

Players are seated randomly at the table. Once everyone has found their seats, each player opens his or her first booster pack, chooses one card from the pack, and puts it face-down on the table. Once you’ve done this, pass the rest of the pack to the player on your left. Once everyone has passed their packs, pick up the next pack (located on your right), pick the best card for your deck from that pack and put it in your pile, and again pass it to the neighbor on your left. This process continues until all the cards from the pack have been picked. You then get a review period to look at the cards you have picked and figure out what direction your deck is going (typically this lasts 60 seconds). Once that ends, each player opens his or her next pack, picks a card, and passes the pack to the right (Packs go left, right, left.). This continues as before until all cards from a pack have been chosen, and then you get another review period before opening the final pack, taking a card, and passing to your left again.

Any drafted or opened cards not used in a player’s Limited deck function as his or her sideboard.

Once you have 45 cards in your pile, it is time to build your deck. Booster Draft rules allow you to add as much basic land as you want to your deck, and require that the deck be at least 40 cards. The standard number of lands in a draft deck is 17–18.

Sealed Deck

Sealed deck is the limited format used at prerelease tournaments. Everyone is given the same amount of product, usually one tournament pack and two booster packs. From that pool of cards, and adding in as many basic land as desired, each player must build a deck of at least 40 cards. Any opened cards not put in the main deck count as part of the sideboard. In sealed deck, the skill is making the best out of what you're given.

Zasady Futurexowego turnieju commonów:

Minimum 60 kart w talii.

Do 15 kart w sideboardzie.

Maksimum 4 takie same karty (poza basic landami) w talii.

Gramy commonami od Urza’s Saga wzwyż. Nie gramy kartami ze srebną lub złotą obwódką. Dozwolone są tylko takie karty promo, które wyszły w normalnych cyklach dodatków papierowych.

Dozwolone są te karty, które w swoim ostatnim papierowym druku, zostały przedrukowane jako common (nie uwzględniamy MTGO ani żadnych dodatków tam wypuszczonych).
